Friends of Children with Cancer is a not-for-profit organization established in 1992 to provide children with cancer from low income families in Egypt consistent and timely access to high quality medications. Through its efforts serving this community, the organization concluded that medication alone was not enough in treating cancer.
Children that have undergone chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery need proper nutrition and clean and supportive environment during the recovery period. However, to achieve better results, a holistic approach of proper nutrition, infection control as well as emotional and physical well being of children and their families is needed.
Friends of Children with Cancer teamed up with Care with Love. Care with Love was founded to provide accountable, dignified home health care, enabling individuals to stay in the comfort of their own homes. Together, they designed and implemented a nutritional and recreational care center in the beautiful setting of Wadi El Natroun, Egypt. Health and Hope Oasis provided children proper nutrition, infection control, play therapy, and emotional support to help them beat cancer.
The Health and Hope Oasis at Wadi El Natroun will be the first center in Egypt to provide such services for children with cancer while supporting and educating their families. The farm setup will also insure space, quality air, food production, and work opportunities for the parents if they need.
